One day, the landlord came to his house and urged his mother to pay the rent for the month. He heard his mother saying:” I am sorry, but I cannot make the payment now. I shall endeavour to pay you in a few days.” THe landlord went away in the sullens.
Cheng Ming felt very sorry to learn this and was determined to cut school for half a month and work as a temporary worker in a factory. For the purpose to avoid his mother’s sorrows, he pretended to go to school by carrying his bag out as usual. He kept the secret until the forth day when he fainted away because a tool hit him on his head. He was immediately rushed to hospital and his mother was notified of this accident. It was lucky that he was simply slightly hurt.
